Terms of Service
When commissioning me, you are agreeing to all the terms, rules, and guidelines for conduct that I’ve listed here, so please be sure to read them carefully so that you understand them!
General Rules:
I can decline to do a commission for any reason, not just for the inability or inexperience to draw the subject, and I do not have to explain. No is a complete sentence. Please be kind and respectful. I have had enough crap when working in retail to last me a lifetime, and will not put up with it for my passion project of making art. Please be patient. I have a day job, and art is my passion project. The best I can do is provide you with estimated completion times based on my workload/daily life commitments outside of the art world.
Should a major life issue on my end cause an extended delay, I will communicate this to you.I will not make art that promotes hateful material or events.
This includes should you take my art and used as icons or images on social media that promote hateful material or events. This will get you blacklisted from commissioning me and possible legal action for using my art without permission for something I do not approve of.When using my art in public spaces like profile pictures, RP profiles, etc., please credit me with one of my social links. They can be found on my carrd. My art is never to be used in AI-generative programs in any shape, form, or fashion, or made into NFTs.
Payment:
Have payment ready!
I will not be waiting for you to “get the money” after you’ve reached out. I’ll assume you have the funds after you contact me for my artwork, just as you would any other service in an industry.Only payments via PayPal in USD are accepted.
This is non-negotiable.To begin a commission, 50% down must be paid in advance, with the other 50% due upon completion, both done promptly. This is to avoid scamming.
Canceling your commission after I’ve made it past the Refined Sketch phase makes the 50% deposit non refundable.
Depending on the reason for the cancellation, this can also mean you will be blacklisted from commissioning me again.
Should you cancel before the refined sketch is completed, your down payment will be refunded back to you in full.
Repeat cancellations in this manner can still result in you being blacklisted, so don’t abuse this kindness!Money will not be accepted before a commission invoice has been sent! Paying through the invoice, which includes a copy of this Terms of Service, adds legal documentation that you agree to the guidelines I have listed here.I am currently not offering commercial or product use versions of my artwork at this time.No haggling! However, I will be adjusting commission prices based on complexity/simplicity of the character. I will inform you before beginning the commission what your final cost will be.
As the Commissioner:
You agree to provide good references and outline your requests clearly.
The more references, the more accurately I can draw your character/person/pet! Prior artwork, photos, screenshots, etc.!
If no images are available, then detailed descriptions and mood boards work, too! This includes inspo art of other characters as well!
Be thorough! You will communicate with me promptly about revisions you may request in a timely manner.
I limit the turnaround time for communication to 7 days. If you do not get back to me before that time is up, I’ll assume all is good to go for the next stage of the artwork or the revision you requested has been accepted.
I understand life circumstances occur, but these must be communicated to get any sort of extension! Telling me after the fact will not undo the work I’ve put into your commission. You will use the AI poisoned versions of your commission for public shares while the print versions are for your own enjoyment/personal use.
Workflow:
Commissioning.
We discuss the terms of your commission, costs, potential lead time, and composition.
Invoicing.
Once you have communicated what you would like, I will send you the PayPal invoice.
After you make the 50% down payment, work begins!
Concept Sketching - Check-In 1
I will present a very loose base sketch to get the pose and idea down for your picture before I begin sketching.
5 revisions max.
Refined Sketch - Check-In 2
Sketch that will have basics of lighting, line weight and composition.
3 alterations max.
Because of the detail included in this sketch, a full redo is not an option after the pose has been decided unless something is egregiously wrong with the composition.
Line Work - Check-In 3
2 minor alterations max.
Flat Color/Greyscale Shading - Check-In 4/Watermarked Piece
2 minor revisions are accepted to fix color/shading accuracy.
Some artworks in my commission listing will finish at this stage, and a watermarked small sized version will be sent for approval before finalizing the commission.
Refining - Watermarked Piece.
2 minor revisions max to fix lighting/color/rendering issues that are inaccurate to the character concept.
Manga-tone and B&W pieces will not have this phase
A watermarked small size version will be sent for approval before final payment will be promptly due.
Upon completion and final payment, you will be given 4 versions of your artwork over email to avoid compression distortions caused by social media platforms:Web-sized .PNG and .JPEG, AI poisoned for public use.
AI poisoning means the art has been run through filters to prevent AI scraping from stealing the artwork and using it to create faux artworks.
These are typically at 72 dpi, at least 1000 px tall or wide.Print-sized .PNG and .JPEG for personal use.
Primarily for printing for your personal use as wall art, computer wallpapers, etc.
These are set at 300 dpi and the default size that I originally worked in.
